Atomfall , the new game from Sniper Elite developer (and 2000 AD owner) Rebellion, is set in the Lake District in northwestern England in an imagined version of the 1960s. It’s a world of stark mountains, creepy moorland, homely village pubs, and eccentric country folk. It’s also a quarantine zone where clanking, retrofuturistic mechs patrol a militarized town after a disaster at a local nuclear plant. Nearby, the remote forest is overrun by a lawless faction of druidic cultists. In other words, it’s Fallout, U.K. style. Rebellion, always a cheerfully unpretentious studio, is happy to own up to this influence — among many others. I have to be honest: I was never quite as high on Daredevil ’s famous one-take hallway fight scene as everyone else seemed to be . It’s pretty good, and certainly stands out within the superhero subgenre as an example of cogent action design. But it lacks the impact of the fight from Oldboy it’s very clearly imitating , and isn’t nearly as impressive as Tony Jaa’s mind-melting oner in The Protector , or Sam Hargrave’s 21-minute oner across multiple locations in Extraction 2 , or James Nunn and Scott Adkins’ stunning work in the One Shot series .  To be fair, those are some of the best to ever do it. So it’s no surprise that by comparison I always thought Daredevil ’s hallway oner was just solid, and mostly appreciated it for the exhaustion depicted by the end of the sequence and how faithful it was in its approach to the comics, which are known for some of the most gorgeous, intricate fight scenes in the Marvel Universe. Daredevil: Born Again is off to a quick start . There’s already been tragedy, turmoil, blossoming love, a whole-ass mayoral election, and more. The show is certainly the most grounded and lived-in New York has felt in any of Marvel’s Disney Plus shows so far, but it also feels distinctly like part of the MCU. People in this show’s version of New York seem used to the idea of superheroes, and they’re mostly over the shock of the Battle of New York, though they’re not quite comfortable with the idea of street-level heroes playing crime fighters in their city just yet. Trying to figure out what’s causing slow frame rates in a PC is sort of like solving for a mysterious leak in your home. It could be the graphics card, or it could be slow storage, outdated RAM, the CPU — one, or all of the above. While doing a complete overhaul is a surefire way to solve the problem, it’s expensive and not financially savvy in the slightest.
