For more than a year, Disney Parks has been promoting its new Olaf animatronic as the next generation of character encounters. Standing about three feet tall, the robot is the exact size the character was in the Frozen films and is covered in fluffy fabric to give the perfect snow effect. And unlike the stationary animatronic found within the Disney rides, Olaf is able to freely roam around the park, sharing interactions with park guests thanks to advancements in robotics, including AI , utilized by Disney’s Imagineering team. Microsoft will hold its annual Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, June 7, the company announced Monday. It’s the kind of premise that could easily be made into D-grade shlock: a pet chimp at a remote home in Hawaii gets rabies and starts ripping humans apart. But Primate , which is streaming now on Paramount Plus following its theatrical run in January, deserves at least a “B” on the shlock-grading scale. It is very much about a rabid pet chimp absolutely destroying many poor victims unlucky enough to stumble across its path. In the season premiere, however, the cargo ship transporting those weapons sinks right in the East River after Daredevil comes aboard and Kingpin gives orders to scuttle the vessel. The game didn’t leave a particularly strong impression on me, aside from its striking-looking protagonist. But I admired CD Projekt’s ambition and committed nerdiness, and it was a fun novelty to travel to Warsaw to see a game in development, as opposed to the more typical game industry hubs of the time like Seattle, or Paris, or Guildford. Sony is raising the retail price of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation Portal worldwide, the company announced Friday. In Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) is elected as mayor of New York City on an anti-vigilante platform. When season 2 begins, Fisk’s draconian policies are in full effect with his Anti-Vigilante Task Force (AVTF) roaming the streets and terrorizing all kinds of citizens, even if they aren’t vigilantes. On March 23, reports emerged online about a significant data breach affecting Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming platform. The information was first shared by International Cyber Digest on X and by BleepingComputer . The latter was allegedly contacted by the hacker responsible for the breach, who claimed to have breached Crunchyroll on March 12 through malware infecting the computer of an employee of an outsourcing company who has access to Crunchyroll support tickets. The threat actors claimed to have used malware to infect the agent's computer and gain access to their credentials. The opening credits of the 2009 film Push are packed with so much exposition and terminology it feels like director Paul McGuigan and writer David Bourla are introducing viewers to an entire superhero universe. Instead, it ended with a single film. Push was part of the trend of cape-free superhero stories led by the 2006 premiere of Heroes that was quickly eclipsed by the Marvel Cinematic Universe . If you love Life is Strange , you probably have mixed feelings about the TV adaptation coming to Prime Video. (I certainly do.) Last year, I had a stint where the only game I wanted to play was Art of Fauna . The App Awards-winning mobile game is as simple as they come. It’s a puzzle game where old paintings of animals are split up into strips and you need to reassemble them. When I sat down to play Bubsy 4D at this year’s Game Developers Conference , I didn’t exactly have high expectations. The Bubsy series has been reduced to a punchline over the past few decades, and its latest installment sure sounded like an ironic way to capitalize on the meme. Even its title is a cheeky riff on the maligned Bubsy 3D . And yet, within minutes of playing, I was totally captivated by this mechanically deep 3D platformer that gave me countless ways to chain together my moves. There are a surprising number of similarities between Rian Johnson’s murder mystery Knives Out and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett’s horror comedy Ready or Not . They both came out in 2019 and focus on a rich family trying to destroy a woman they see as a gold-digging interloper.
