20 years ago, Cillian Murphy's nearly perfect thriller was ahead of its time

Plenty of viewers yearn for shorter movies, but it’s fair to say many of them aren’t sure how that’s actually accomplished. It’s easy enough to say a movie should be 15 or 20 minutes shorter (I think about this myself all the time), but any editor will tell you that a two-hour film with 15 or 20 minutes hatcheted out of it will often feel choppy or less coherent.
