The Nintendo Switch 2 price seemed too expensive until it really didn't

Nintendo said it had accounted for the impact of tariffs with the Switch 2's initial sticker price of $450 (although, a few weeks later, it was forced to increase the cost of some accessories). Everyone complained anyway. At $450, the Switch 2 was a whole 50% more than the Switch had been at launch, and similarly priced to the base model of PlayStation 5. Even adjusted for inflation, it was Nintendo's most expensive console ever.

The new Vox Machina book finally gives Shaun Gilmore his due — read an excerpt here

As soon as Random House revealed the table of contents for its short-story collection Critical Role: Vox Machina — Stories Untold (publishing March 4), I knew exactly which story I wanted to read first: Aabria Iyengar ’s “Shaun,” about everybody’s favorite recurring NPC with a crush on a PC, Shaun Gilmore . I always felt like Shaun got a raw deal in Critical Role’s animated adaptation The Legend of Vox Machina : He’s portrayed as a skilled sorcerer, a savvy merchant, and a scheming politico, but he’s also kind of an affection-operated dispensing machine, and a bit of a retro queer stereotype. The original actual play episodes offer some humanizing detail about him, and put his relationship with Vox Machina party member Vax’ildan on a more equal footing. But the animated series makes his long-standing crush on Vax seem both a little oppressive (constant, unreciprocated, gushy flirting; Vax always looking a bit squirmy and constipated around him) and like a weakness that turns him in...

Pokémon Go Max Monday and Max Battle schedule for July 2025

Knowing the Max Battle schedule is useful if you’re looking to expand your inventory of Dynamax Pokémon in Pokémon Go . It does appear that Niantic will start rotating Pokémon in and out of Max Battles on a month-by-month basis, with some event Pokémon littered in. There are also Max Mondays, a weekly event similar to raid hour, where one Pokémon will show up more frequently in power spots from 6-7 p.m. That said, you’ll want a healthy amount of Dynamax Pokémon in your team if you choose to divulge in the feature, as only Dynamax Pokémon can participate in Max Raids. (So you’re pretty much catching Pokémon to help you catch more Pokémon.) Notably, if you’re just starting out with Max Battles, you should have a “To the Max!” Special Research set that starts you off with a Dynamax Wooloo.
